What we keep, and for how long
Daily AI Notes is a small open-source project. It keeps as little as it can, sells nothing and runs no advertising or tracking scripts. The code that does all of this is public.
The topics you pick stay in your browser. The site asks for the notes on them, but does not store which topics anyone follows.
Reading needs no account. Asking the notes does.
Our server logs record requests without IP addresses or request headers.
Your email address, the topics you follow, the topics you add, the notes you mark more or less like this, and your sign-in sessions. A session is a random token in a cookie that scripts cannot read; we store only a hash of it, with when it was made and last used, and it ends after 30 days without use. Sign-in codes are stored as hashes too, and deleted once they expire.
When you ask the notes a question, we keep the question, the notes the answer cited, your account, and a keyed hash of your IP address that cannot be turned back into the address, for 30 days. Your account and the hash also count your questions for the day's limits; those counts are deleted after a day.
You can delete your account on your account page at any time. That removes all of it at once.
- Cloudflare carries every request to this site, and its Turnstile check on the sign-in form tells people from bots.
- Resend sends the sign-in email, so it receives your address and the code.
- Ollama Cloud runs the model that answers Ask, so it receives your question with the notes that answer it. It says it does not log or train on what it is sent.
- Langfuse records each model call, including Ask questions, so we can see how the pipeline behaves; it keeps them for 30 days.
Open an issue in the project's repository, without personal details; we will reply there.
